Replacement windows across DFW, from our Coppell base. A house settles. By the time a window needs replacing, the opening it sits in is rarely still square, and a unit ordered to the old window’s size is one that has to be forced.

A technician measures the rough opening, checks the sill, the trim and how the water is meant to leave, and writes what the opening actually needs. The old unit leaves with us and the opening is left clean.

How a replacement window goes in

Two ways to replace a window, and the opening decides which.

A full-frame replacement takes the whole window out, frame included, back to the rough opening in the wall. An insert — sometimes called a pocket replacement — leaves the old frame in place and fits a new unit inside it. Both are ordinary work; which one your opening wants is a question about the frame that is already there, not a preference.

If the existing frame is sound, square and dry, an insert keeps the trim and the wall finish undisturbed, and costs less disruption inside and out. If the frame has rot, if water has been getting behind it, or if the opening has gone far enough out of square that a unit inside it would be packed out at one corner, that frame has to come out — and putting a new window inside a bad one only hides what is happening behind it.

That is why the visit measures the rough opening and looks at the sill, the trim and where the water is meant to go, rather than measuring the glass. Everything after that — the frame material, the glass package, the style — is a choice made against an opening whose real dimensions are already known.

Insert: a new unit inside a sound existing frame.
Soft or discolored wood at the sill, or paint lifting below it.
A sash that only binds at one corner — an opening that has moved.

Two things we don’t do, so you’re not left waiting on us: broken or fogged glass and insulated-glass units, and solar screens. Lock and latch work is the same — on a new unit we attach, adjust and test the latch the manufacturer supplied, and nothing beyond that.

Do you charge to come out?

No. We measure and look at the opening with you, then give you a written estimate. You approve it before any work starts, and there is no charge if you decline.

What will it cost?

It depends on the windows you choose and on what each opening needs once it is measured. The price is written on the estimate before anything is ordered, and the invoice matches it.

Do you replace fogged or broken glass?

No. A failed seal or a broken pane is glass work, and we don’t do it. Whole-unit replacement is what we do.

How is a window measured?

When do I pay?

Most standard repairs are paid after completion. A deposit may be required for special-order products or larger projects and will be shown in the written estimate before you approve the work.
