Door repair in DFW

Which door, and what is it doing?

Sticking on the floor, dragging in its track, refusing to latch, hanging off a tired hinge, or a screen that has torn. Each of those is a different job, and which door it is decides the fix — so pick the one you are looking at.

Name the door, then the job

Tap the one in front of you.

Each one opens the page that says what we repair on that door, and where the line is. If none of them is it, call — a person answers and will tell you which one you have.

Why we split it up

“Door repair” is four trades in a trench coat.

A slider stands on rollers. A storm door hangs off the trim. An entry door is a weather seal at four edges. An interior door is a slab hung to a frame that moved.

Quoting them as one service means guessing at which one you have, and a guess on the phone becomes a surprise on the invoice. Naming the door first is what lets the written estimate be right the first time.

Where the line is

What we don’t do.

Two things we don’t do, so you’re not left waiting on us: broken or fogged glass and insulated-glass units, and solar screens. Lock and latch work is the same — on a new unit we attach, adjust and test the latch the manufacturer supplied, and nothing beyond that.

Questions people ask

Straight answers.

My door sticks and drags on the floor.
Usually the frame rather than the door. Interior doors are hung to a frame that is hung to a house, and houses in this soil move — so we look at the hinges, the frame and the strike before touching the slab.
It will not latch unless I lean on it.
The strike and the seal are the first two things to check. A door that has dropped no longer meets its stop, and a new seal will not fix that, so we look at both before quoting either.
The patio door grinds when I slide it.
That is the rollers at the foot of the panel, or the track at the sill. Both are parts we replace, and which one it is goes on the estimate before anything starts.
Can you repair the screen in my screen door?
Yes. If what has gone is the mesh, it is insect-screen work: new mesh and spline if the frame is straight, a new frame if it has bent or split.
My storm door closer is broken.
A storm door’s closer, sweep or latch is covered under the warranty on a door we installed. A new storm door is its own job.
Do you replace fogged or broken glass?
No. Glass and insulated-glass units are outside what we do. Whole-unit replacement is what we do.
What does the warranty cover?
Five years on parts and labor, every repair and every install. The scope is on the estimate you approve and on the invoice.
